I’m a Member of Technical Staff at FutureHouse in San Francisco, where I work on building and evaluating AI agents to accelerate scientific discovery.
My research is motivated by two overarching questions:
Before joining FutureHouse, I completed my Ph.D. in Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University advised by Jeff Schneider, where I worked primarily on Bayesian Experimental Design, Reinforcement Learning, and other topics in Uncertainty Quantification. My thesis focused on equivariant neural architectures that significantly improve sample efficiency and generalization in certain Bayesian Experiment Design tasks.
I previously worked with Alex Beatson at Redesign Science on experimental design for drug discovery. Before coming to CMU as a graduate student I enjoyed working with Stephen Smith and Isaac Isukapati in the ICL Lab through the RISS program where I worked on Probabilistic Modelling of transportation systems. I studied Electronic Engineering in UCD as an undergraduate, and spent some time at UCLA as an exchange student.
- How do real-world expert scientists wish to engage with evidence and arguments to update their beliefs about frontier scientific hypotheses?
- How can we build AI agents to help?

I occasioanlly host a radio show on WRCT featuring my favourite Pittsburgh and Irish music producers. In a parallel universe, I’m a short-filmmaker, and I’m hoping the universe is ergodic enough to let me pick that back up someday.
